Common Questions
Do you film or photograph the event?
No. The Montage Maven is a post-production studio. You send us the photos and video you already have, and we edit them into a finished montage. If you also need a videographer for the day itself, ask us and we will point you toward someone we trust.
Where are you located, and do you work with families outside New York?
Our studio is in Rye Brook, Westchester County, New York, and we work with families across the United States. Our editors are spread across the country, and everything is sent, reviewed, and delivered online, so where you live makes no difference to the montage.
What do I need to send you?
Whatever you have, in whatever condition it is in. Photos from your phone, prints from an album, home video, clips from other family members. You do not need to sort, scan, or organize anything first. That is our job.
Can we use our own song?
Yes. Families are welcome to choose a song of their own for personal, non-commercial use. For an additional fee you can instead pick from our royalty-free music library, and we supply the usage permit for those tracks.
How long does a montage take, and how far ahead should we start?
The editing does not take long. Gathering photos from family is the slow part, and it always runs longer than people expect, so start collecting as early as you can. Tell us your date and we will tell you straight away whether we can make it.
Do you still do tape, film, or photo digitization?
No. We no longer offer digitization, scanning, or media conversion of any kind. We focus on editing montages from the material you already have.
